Percy Jackson would obliterate Jason Grace - I will die on this hill

So a while ago I had a debate with my friend about which character is more powerful and which would win in a fight, now obviously I said Percy as any sane person would because clearly that is the right answer, but this guy straight up tried to convince me that Jason had any chance of winning. Now I’m not saying that Jason isn’t powerful (eh...maybe I am, what are you going to do about it?) but in comparison to Percy? Its pretty clear who’s got more power, I don’t care if they’re near the sea or not regardless of location Percy would win no one can convince me otherwise. As a result of this debate I now feel the need to tell the world why I’m right so you get to listen to me ramble on about this very serious debate that I have a lot of mostly accurate (very biased) opinions on. So here it is my thoughts on a debate no one asked for.
Powers: Jason’s Cool…
First things first, powers. As we know both Percy and Jason are demigod children of ‘The Big Three’ meaning they are gong to have some pretty cool powers. First up Jason. This guy is a child of Zeus - King of the Gods, Ruler of the Sky etc etc, so naturally he’s going to have some pretty cool powers (but then again so does Percy), numero uno, he can fly. Now that is a very cool power to have, I mean in a fight you can fly above your opponent, you can… yeah that’s all I got for benefits in a fight, enjoy your ariel view I guess, unless you count flying away which you know could be pretty useful (especially if he’s up against Percy just saying) but I mean at that point he’s already lost. Number 2, he could summon wind/wind spirits (I mean Percy can kinda create mini storms around him but you know I'll let you decide what's cooler), again a very cool power to have, very helpful in a fight (I’m being serious this time) you can blow you opponent off the ground, disorient them and so on (you know who else can do that with water and maybe a little earthquake). And saving best till last he has the amazing ability to summon lightning much like his sister Thalia - but you know one thing that I think kinda sucks about that is you only get one strike and then that’s it they don’t get a second try. I mean imagine if you were in the middle of a fight and your lighting strike misses that’s it game over, your one big ultimate power move rendered essentially useless especially if you’re against another demigod who likely has their own ultimate power they can use against (cough cough Percy). So to sum up, Jason has some pretty cool powers all things considered, however up against Percy (who has much superior powers in my humble opinion)…
Powers: …But Percy’s better
So now we obviously have to talk about Percy and his powers. As we know Percy is the son of Poseidon - God of the Sea, Earthshaker, Stormbringer etc etc, naturally Percy is also going to have some pretty cool powers and is going to be a very powerful demigod. The most obvious power is clearly Percy’s ability to manipulate and control water which would come in extremely handy in any fight, I mean lets not forget that this guy literally fought Ares - the god of war - and won (I mean come on Ares what were you thinking fighting the son of Poseidon next to the sea, not your finest hour) if that’s not proof that he’s a super powerful demigod I don’t know what is, especially considering this was in book one he was only just learning how to use his powers. Now I know that obviously he had an advantage being near water and all but like semantics he still beat the god of war in a fight - that’s impressive. Also like I said that was only in the first book, remember Trials of Apolllo, he literally sneezes, just sneezes and he blows up some toilets, anyone who tries to convince me that Jason would win against him is just insane, the amount of power Percy has is unmatched amongst the demigods. Another thing, we cannot forget that dreadful moment in Tartarus when Percy literally manipulates the poison of Akhlys right back at her, which is hugely significant as she is the primordial goddess of poison, so he essential overpowered an immortal in their own field. Secondly, we can’t forget that Percy literally caused an earthquake whilst inside a volcano, you can’t tell me he had an advantage there, last I checked there’s no water in a volcano, but hey what do I know? Considering only those two powers I'd say that Percy is already at an advantage here (maybe I’m being biased but still) because anyone who can defeat multiple gods/goddesses could easily defeat another demigod.
Vibes: textbook grace vs pure chaos Jackson
Next up, I’m just going to talk general personality and vibes because why not, I don’t have a plan I’m just rambling (if you couldn't already tell). Let’s just take a moment to consider how Percy is from other characters’ perspective, because if you just read the first set of books you end up thinking that Percy is just this hilarious, clumsy guy that no one really takes all that seriously, but then in Heroes of Olympus you see him how others see him and damn if he isn’t scary especially when fighting, I mean even some of the other characters are scared of him, which is saying something considering they’re all very powerful demigods. Another key thing to note is that whilst Jason is a great fighter, his fighting style is kind of basic, he sticks to the book and is very structured in how he fights, which is not necessarily a bad thing if you’re fighting in a large group you know, but when you’re up against one person (especially if that person fights dirty) you’re kind of at a disadvantage. Percy on the other hand. Percy has absolutely no battle plan, he improvises, makes it up on the spot making him utterly unpredictable and all the more harder to fight. It's iconic , we love. (especially against Mr I follow the rules to the letter Jason, just saying).
Final verdict: The hill I die on
To wrap it all up Percy would absolutely obliterate Jason if they ever fought no one can convince me otherwise and I will absolutely die on this hill. There you go the debate no one asked for and my (completely unbiased) opinion that again no one asked for but I provided anyway. Sue me.
In conclusion: Percy would win. Every time. In any terrain. Against anyone.
I will not be accepting constructive feedback at this time.
